Literature Text

To the man who inspired us
To write, or draw, or sing
We all raise our voices
In mourning they do ring
He wrote so many sagas
Of difficulty and strife
They all ended in happiness
And sometimes the loss of life
But now the stories will end
No new heros will rise up
Feasts of legend will cease
No more drinking of wooden cups
The characters we know lament
For their great loss
The funeral is in their Abbey
In a land of flowers and moss
Farewell oh great Brian
And the series of his
We'll miss you dearly
You were truely "I Am That Is"
Farewell oh great Brian
And the series of his
We will miss you dearly
You were truely "I Am That Is"

On Saturday, Febuary 5th, Brian Jacques passed away of a heart attack. Redwall was the first series I ever read willingly. He fueled my imagination more than anything I can remember. No one will be able to make jokes, describe food, create characters, or write a song like he did ever again. So long Brian Jacques. You will be missed more than anything. T-T

From the Summer of the Late Rose, I have known Thee,
With thy poem and prose, Thou inspired me,
Thou were my Log-a-Log, my Abbot, my great Badger Lord,
You told me tales of Slavers and Sea-rats and verminous Hordes,
And yet now it is your time to pass through Dark Forest Gates,
There to rest with great heroes, for new adventure awaits.
Rest Easy, old friend.
